Gas Mask Brille

Hi Everyone,
Over the weekend bought something I never knew existed - Gas Mask Glasses similar to John Lennon glasses minus solid arms instead two tape loops for the ears, complete with tin case.

One among the first valuable items in my collection...back in 1981..they came inside a complete gasmask set...good memories...

IMO John Lennon's glasses are similar to Maskenbrille, not the opposite...

These glasses have nothing to do with the gas mask. It's regular medical glasses for the battle service perhaps, "masken" means that you wear them as any mask with the tape loops. Also there is Dienst Brille, which is basically the same, only with regular hooks instead of tape loops.
