Hi Adi, the can itself is original but some of the paint looks post war applied.

I have to agree with Ade on this one, looks like a relic thats had some modern paint added on? Possibly to increase the value?

Thanks for your opinions. Maybe those peasants used it as a paint can. I can assure you there was no intention from the seller to increase the value of the can, this is just the way he found it in some village from the border of Moldova with Wallachia, I think...

If the price is right I think that you should go for it, I dont think that it has been used to contain paint though. If this was the case a handle would have been added onto the top so it could be carried. Its an unusual one I have to say, because the stoty that you've been told doesnt sugest that its been messed about with, but the paint doesnt convince sadly. Looks nice though
