    Known as the "EXAKT", "Allein Hersteller" means "Sole Manufacturer"...

    I think the US is the original. Could this be post war? Just wondering.

    The French were the first to patent this type of device in 1912...The US didn't adapt them until 1942-43....

    I normally do not get picky but this site is for historical reference. The P38 opener was conceived, designed and produced in 30 days (extremely fast for the US military) in 1942.

    Surely as it is marked Deutsches Reich Gemacht then it is pre WW2?

    Pre- or during. However, "DRGM" means Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster, actually. The term was used from 1891 to 1945.
