german canteen - Wehrmacht, SA or Hitler Youth?

Hi, i bought this canteen for 8 euro. Good deal? Can anyone tell me anything about it? The buttons are rusty and cant put off the felt. I didnt find any markings.

I have a similar canteen. If not marked on top of the lid, markings could be on the throat of the canteen; you'd have to carefully loosen the leather from the buckle and pull the felt cover down.

@weller: Thx, i got it and put off the felt cover. I used a knife for the rusty buttons. But I still cant find any markings. Has anyone an idea, how can i clean the felt cover? It stinks. Lol.

Often referred to as a Political Canteen, these can be seen being carried by various organizations such as SA, HJ, DJ, Pre-1933 Youth Organizations etc...
These could also be Privately Purchased...
