German canvas cover for what?

I have had this cover for quite a number of years now and when I acquired it I had a mind to make a pair of head light covers for my Stoewer R200s radio car. I never got around to doing that and now I am happy I didn't as this cover could be quite rare. I have no idea what it was supposed to cover and am hoping someone on the forum will know. I thought it could be for some radar equipment or large optics but it just eludes me as to what its for exactly. Anyone with any ideas please let me know.

I have also a cover in blue web, impossible to know for what!

Not a muzle cover,because only web, a muzzle cover have leather in front of the gun.
