Nice all original one Fabe go for it most folders are lacking a date I like this one H=Heer contract I have several maker logo or three letter code with Waa on them I have yet to find a dated one but some are. What ones I have seen are usually dated 42 or so my friend has one AGO 42 Waa. and I have seen a 41 I suspose you could encounter about any date up to 45 of course. Nice shovel timothy

update: I just won this for 62 EU...'hope it looks as good as on the photos.
So now I have my very first German WW2 shovel!

I know what you all will say: "Now go get an original carrier!" ( which will cost triple the price of this )

Man that is the truth or even more that is why mine are coverless! may go with some of the good repo ones just to have a cover and they display good IMO At the Front sells the best ones. timothy

Now, go get an original carrier !!!

Ahhhh you knew I was going to say that !!!..... I know they are expensive, but IMHO you will regret buying repro's... just wait until a complete one shows up... To be honest, I think it will be very difficult to get a loose carrier, it is more likely that you will find a complete set, but you can always use this one to put this one in a belt, there are a pictures of soldiers wearing these in the way a hand-grenade would be carried....
