    Default German Issued Pocket Watch???

    Hey gang!

One of the other hobbies I enjoy is collecting watches. I recently came across this piece. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this was something that might have been issued... the box certainly gives that appearance... of if this is just a civilian issue.

    Thanks!

I believe that the box, does not belong to the watch. From the inscription, it seems that it has contained Zündladungen N 4. I don't know exactly what it's called in english. Could it be "Primer charges"? At least, it has something to do with explosives. From the inscription, it looks like the box could have contained experimental z. ladungen. With my limited knowledge of the german language, it looks like the inscription says, that any leftover z. ladungen must be returned to the OKH amtsgruppe für entwicklung und prüfung.

    All the best

Stig Erik you are correct, Zündladungen translates as Ignition charge.

The box is for WWII German detonators, the watch is from 1890-1920 and has nothing to do with military. It is a Swiss made watch so I belive an accurate one:-)
