It is the venerable Patronentasche 1887 for the 8 mm cartridge.
Apprently yours was the 1882th Patronentasche issued within the Grenadier Regiment 123, 11. Kompanie...
What's stamped above the letters BA ? (which should mean Bekleidungs Amt)

Thanks, above the BA looks like 'A.D' . Also, there appears to be more to the 'BA' . Looks like 'BAR' . IMO . I can't be sure without damaging the stitching for the d- ring. Sounds like this is a lot older than I thought!
