That's what I thought too. It's identical to every MN produced mess kit i've seen. Now, i'm wondering if it was repainted with new paint or is it original as well. If it's new I plan on painting my serial number on it.

I just got the mess kit today in the mail. It had "PP RH 58" stamped on the top and bottom. Does this mean it is postwar?

Here's pics of the mess kit and the "PP RH 58" Marking. I compared it to my original WWII German ccj41 all matching, and named mess kit and it's dead on except the lugs on the olive one are in the late war style. And the color (obviously). Opinions on what the markings mean?
