    Default German propeller?

    Hi,

Does anybody know this kind of marking on a supposed German propeller:

The prop is covered with fiberglass mesh and painted in black (like some postwar Schwarz propellers). Bolts holes on rear side of the hub only (kind of rapid fastener system?).

    Hub (flat front side):

    43 . 432631
    12461

    9 - 40010 . 11
    M . S

Stenciled in red on the side:

    9 - 40010 11
    W - Nr 43 . 4?2?31 (probably 43 . 432631, same the hub)

    Best regards,
    PM

Any chance of a full length picture of the prop?? It bears a striking resemblance to the one on the Fieseler Storch at Cosford Aerospace Museum. The numbers even appear similar if I recall, and the letters 'M.S' could stand for Moraine-Saulnier who produced this aircraft for the occupying Germans during WW2 and for years afterwards too.

    Hi Ned,

Thank you for your very interesting answer. The prop is not mine, but I'll try to get a full length picture and one of the other side of the hub from the owner.

    Hello,

It doesn't help much i know...
    Thanks

    Hi,

I am very sorry, but I can't get pictures of the whole prop, nor ones of the other side of the hub.
The only info I can add is the prop lenght: 2m30.

    Regards,

I wasnt aware that the german props had them made from composite materials, i thought they were either all metal or wooden covered in a metal skin, but not a fibre glass

Sorry, no picture of the full length, but one of the other side of the hub. Does this hub is specific of a brand? Or does it is specific of a period?

    Thanks by advance,
