If anything it is a long handled pioneer shovel to me. The shape is similar. timothy

Not the best photo in the world but its possible to see a similar shovel on the wing of the Stoewer R200s radio car. It was a badly posed photo of the car taken with part of the wing of a JU52 in view.

    Hello

It is either a pre war , or post war pioneer shovel, easily identified by the "ears" of the shovel.....

a normal (read ww2) pioneer shovel (long handle and short handle) had the ears folded over

if you look at the spades you'll know what I mean

After at looking at mine ears are folded over as Tom shows for WW2 I found a picture of a prewar that wasn't but as stated post war ones were not either makes sense that since this was dug could be pre war. timothy
