    Thank you Steve! Someone told me on another site, that this is a postwar German shovel. (Just waiting for some replies, cause I don't want to be clever afterwards) Can you tell me then, that what kind of shovel is this exactly?

    Sorry but I do not recognize the shovel accept I am sure it is not a wartime army issued item.

    I believe that is a postwar East German shovel.

    Yep! That will be the correct answer. Another person told me the same also that it's a postwar East German shovel Now that's 4:0 to the shovel. I'm happy that my money was saved..

    the seam weld is a trademark of the East German one - WW2 ones were spot welded.
