Grünmeliert Koffer - unique find

Hello friends, This is a very curious recent find. I located this suitcase in an antique store. I was looking for a proper suitcase for a living history officer impression. This item caught my eye because the cloth cover on it looked like Fallschirmjager material for the jump uniform. It appears to be some kind of Grünmeliert material - period unknown. The only marking on it is on an attached label "Prima Echt Vulkanfiber." This translates to "fine, original Vulkan fiber." It is obviously German - but what period? And is it an issue item as opposed to something you would purchase privately? It cost only $30 - a bargain to my mind. Neil Hever

I think that was a good purchase and it is most likely 1930's/40's.
