Gun stand - machine gun legs? parts

I was wondering about two parts found on a Battlefield.
First one has patent number ... PATENT 31832

Is it part of a gun stand?



Or just bicycle stand? LOL

Looks like a motorbike brake lever ( off the handle bars ) with the ratchet which acts as a lock. Maybe from a side car arrangement????

A Bipod would have a foot at the bottom of the leg, looks more like a brake lever off of a bicycle to me.

It would be too hard on a hand to be hand brake ... and part of lever would be too big and wrong way.
