    Default Gurttrommel 34 (Drum Magazine) for the MG 34/42

    I just picked up this nice war time Gurttrommel 34 (Drum Magazine) for the MG 34/42. It is marked with Hersteller Maker: h.q.u. 43. This indicates production by Markes & Co., K.- G., Metallwarenfabrik u. Apparatebau, Luedenscheid - Germany in 1943. Nice original paint & the base orange primer does show slightly through in some corner areas & recesses of the steel. The Ammunition Link Belt is maker marked with e.u.h. for C. u. W. Meinel-Scholer, Klingenthal in Sachsen and has a waffenamt stamp. The 7.92 rounds and tracer rounds are 1937 vintage. Thanks to UK Cousin for his assistance on helping with the ammunition. Nice little addition to the collection. Just missing a starter tab and now I have to save up for the MG which is not likely in the cards.

    Looks awesome!.. And by the way, if you were to ever lock and load I guarantee every round will fire. I have tested this batch of ammo.

    Nice clean gurtrommelträger. Got one by the same maker in dunkelgelb, but mine hasn't got the direction of feed arrow still visible on the inside. Very nice find.
