Article about: Gday All, Picked this nice case up today....it is lined with newspapers from 1943/44 from Budaspest, even appears to have the name of someone who recieved the paper....also a bag of desicant

    You are correct the metal box has a metal cage with inserts for the Eig Granate !!

    The small bag Troppenmittelbeutel i believe is a small desicant type substance used to assist with the storage of items / clothes etc whether it is wartime or not i cannot say !!

    The MIL number on the desiccant bag is a US standard number meaning this bag can be used by the US military to protect their kit....post war...in this case made by a German company....still part of this cases long history.

    I doubt there's a booming trade in TR desiccant bags anyway!
