Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
I'm going to look this up!
The small bag Troppenmittelbeutel i believe is a small desicant type substance used to assist with the storage of items / clothes etc whether it is wartime or not i cannot say !!

Thanks Paul......interesting anyway!
The MIL number on the desiccant bag is a US standard number meaning this bag can be used by the US military to protect their kit....post war...in this case made by a German company....still part of this cases long history.
I doubt there's a booming trade in TR desiccant bags anyway!
