Re: Help!!! Fake grenade launcher for k98????
Hi and welcome to the forum
I've never seen a replica of one of these before because genuine ones can be found with a little bit of searching. Its most likely just made up of two odd parts that someone has put together.
Thanks
Danny

Re: Help!!! Fake grenade launcher for k98????
Hi Danny, replica/fakes of these are certainly made.
Hi PREDDY, my concern would be how rough the castings are. The WaA stamp also looks "cast in" and not stamped on to me?
Have you seen the two orginals posted nere by Bill Grist? The overall quality is much better.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Help!!! Fake grenade launcher for k98????
I might be mis-understanding you here: but "yellow sand" to me would be a painted finish. Phosphated is a chemically applied anti rust finish.
To me, this one does not look like none of these finishes.
But I think two diiferent types of finish might be found on one item. Late war guns can display this.
Cheers, Ade.

sorry..my english is not sooo good.. i'm an italian student.. the "yellow" coming from maybe a chemically process like Phosphate..because today..i've clean it with dreemel using a small metalbrush...but remain the colour..maybe if it's a paint go away..

Yes, the colour will be chemically applied in this case.
Your English is much better than my Italian, so don't worry
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Help!!! Fake grenade launcher for k98????
I cannot say for sure if this one is good or bad.
You need more expert help than I can give, sorry.
Cheers, Ade.
