    Hi,

Can anyone help to identify this?ID help needed on small leather pouch

I've just picked up a small leather item - possible combat engineers related. It's unissued and marked "dla 42" (Barth, Karl: Militareffekeenfabrik Waldbrohl, Rhld) and WA stamped. Each end has a button hole. The nearest suggestion is something to keep a penknife in - but, if it is for a penknife then why 2 button holes? (Am I missing something?).

Odd item. I will guess it was meant to buttoned from the pocket to the second buttonhole. Alternately, it was attached to some kind of pouch or map case on the interior. The item was very small - only 3 inches long apparently. Maybe photography related? NH

Thanks for that: I've never seen anything like it in any reference book.
