identifying a bullet

I was told that my grandad picked this up from the beaches on d-day i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this? Ive took the picture in my hand so you can see that its quite big.

37 mm wide and i think it was 124 mm lenth

I would hope that it is, indeed, disarmed, as they did hold a nice explosive charge. As for value, they are not all that rare or expensive-there are quite a few of them around. Likely, in the range of $30-50 if you were buying it from a Dealer. Less, of course, from a private purchase.
