Kriegsmarine oval plate

I have just picked up this Kriegsmarine oval plate made by Johann Haviland in 1940. Not a rare item I guess but this example is quite clean and tidy without too much wear to the glaze. This was a locally used item here during the Occupation of Jersey and kept by a local family since the end of the war.

Have you asked around if it is possible to find a dumping place for these items after the war?!
It would be great to have photos of ww2 items in the ground, being removed from the ground, and then the same items are sitting in a shelf in your museum. with some postwar pics of items being dumped etc.

I do not know of any such places where plates or similar were dumped/buried. Most of what was here was dumped out at sea, but that was all the war type material.... cannon, ammo, rifles, pistols etc and lots more. The odd bits and pices come out of the ground but the only things I know of in quantity are the porcelain pull beads from stick grenades, they were burnt along with the handles after the heads had been removed. As a kid I used to spend hours digging them up and still have an ammo box full somewhere.
