A few more photos...It's unmarked...
Hello again,
The germans never produced such messkits between 1910 and 1945 for the military...
Only similar details are the shape of the lid and the three ration soup marks.
The kind of metal handle seen here on the lid has never been used for the military, same for the shape of the metal piece that hold the wire handle...never used for the military....
I cant tell you what it is, but i can tell you what it is not and it's not WWII german military, sorry
Thanks

The one I have has an anchor on the lid, which leads me to believe naval, but I do not know the country of origin or date.
My camera is charging and I don't have natural lighting, the first time I would be able to take pics would be 4 P.M. tomorrow. That being said I have probably figured out what it is.

The link shows the type of mess kit I have, but your handle is different. My guess, a WWII era Japanese mess-kit.
Hey Glenn this one is a DDR variant

You Guys are the Best, Thanks! It's not mine, but my friend in Coburg found it and brought it to my attention...I felt strongly that it was German, but never would have guessed DDR! ...Thanks to all for your Effort & Opinions!
cheers, Glenn
