So I would be correct in assuming that the Belgian messtin does not come with a handle or does it come with a handle that hooks into the bracket on the lid or is that stricktly for the messtin strap Ingrid.

@ Mark; I don't know for sure. I asume it's stricktly for the messtin strap.


I did a quick search on the net and found a WWII Imperial Japanese messtin that looks very similar too the one on the left. Could it be Imperial Japanese?

The messtin on the right is postwar german, as the canteen...

The marking on canteen is odd alright, but how about the cover? At least it looks like nice early one?
