My pleasure John. Hope you are well. Rossi

I think its "buckle up, tail down" with the straps Kirk. ( but Tom would know )
That's what the early A frames used.
Nice rig though - I love field gear too...
Cheers, Dan

The straps are pre-sewn so you slip the zelt in and just strap it up. Really no choice on orientation. The tails are up on these without an option I guess. Unless I am missing something? Maybe it was the down fall of the Reich

Very nice addition Kirk
Looks like this came out of a time capsule as it is so minty
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Very nice rig!, indeed, the strap configuration is fixed, so this is the only way the zelt can be fixed....
Here a pic of one in use

As an aside, I have read that the straps were to be worn this same way (tails forward), on the Tornister during the Great War, in the interests of tidiness.
Makes sense, rather than sticking out at different lengths all over the place, though perhaps a little strange to actually care about such things toward the end of the Second World War..
Nice examples, both.
