Map case/dispatch case with content.

Decided to pull this map case out and photograph it and its contents. Sadly it is not named, but due to the content I surmise it belonged to a staff officer - probably in a operations planning cell in some field HQ. The contents do not reflect that of a dispatch rider. Wish it came with a map or two, but we can have a look at the various templates and pointers, rulers, etc. that were inside. I also wish the Marschkompass pocket had a compass in it, but I do have another map case that came with a compass. I rarely find these with a shoulder strap, so that was a nice bonus.

Thanks! I have a few other mapcases and they have a little content. But not as much as this one with the march distance calculator and artillery plotting templates, etc. I've incorporated them into displays before but not this particular case. I'll remedy that soon, but here are some old photos with other map cases.

Those are some tremendous displays!
That map case is very nice, too.
I especially like the chart for calculating marching distances and it sure shows how reliant the Wehrmacht was on horses still and not motorized equipment as there is no mention of that on the chart.
