MG42 Ammo Box camo

Article about: hey i just bought this MG42 ammo box, i was long time searching for a well worn box with a normandy-like camo...at reasonnable price as well. this camo looks original to me and period time !

    Do you think is is a Patronenkasten15 ? i searched on the internet and it is refered as open or empty handle is WW1.......but i already bought an ''empty '' handle on Collector's guild and it was writen :
    Mid to late war pattern...so i'm getting lost now

    Most boxes have seen here in Russia are with the "full" handle. Also the ones for reenactment from BW. They are identical more or less. So yours should not be a BW box. Maybe they used the open handle box all through the war? IMO your box is a good one with genuine holes. If they are battlefield damage or made later is difficult to say.

    Yes that is true. The best you will find realeted to ww2 know in the ground will be a blown up fork or a bullet
