My WW2 German Field Gear Collection

Hi Everyone!

Since I have my own NVA and Hungarian Cold War threads, I figured, that I probably should have a German field gear thread as well - to show my last 4 years worth of collection.

I'll sometimes show some odd pieces, I don't want open a new thread for 1 or 2 items - if you guys see anything that looks bad, repro, fake, etc. please do let me know here.

For my first few posts, I'll display my (probably favorite) field gear items; a very thing that makes everyone think of "Wehrmacht" right away: the German 'Gas Mask & Case M30/M38' (Gasmaske Modell 1930/38) - however, I only own M38 models (for now).

I have 4 (almost) complete sets - only missing the lense-cleaning cloth from 2 of them. I'll be showing them one-by-one - with plenty of pics.

Ok, I'll start my gas-can show'n'tell with my farovrite piece ( still not for sale ), a nice "dunkelgelb" painted can with a "tropen" gas-mask.
Here are the info/markings:

Can date/markings: "frn 1942" on the latch, "epb 43" on the lense-holder latch, capitol letter "D" (waterproof) on the bottom of the can.
Mask date/markings: "1939" date on the left side lense, "1940" date on the right side lense, capitol letter "H" in the circle with "40" (date) on the nose (also a number "48" inkstamp on the nose - see all the pics). Both metal lense ring (around the lense) have "40" (date) markings.
"BUER G" marking and "1940" date in the inside of the mask on the rubber-canvas and "WaA 320" inkstamp.
Mask is "M30" type, size 2.
Filter (painted tan) markings: "FE42" and "Fe".
Both spare glasses are dated "1940".

Here is my second can set - might have been an SS can, with name removed from label (but in pencil the name: "gef. VOGEL" can be seen) - also features handpainted "autumn forest or Italian camo" paint - reds, browns & yellows on top of the field green.

There is a small welded repair on the back-side latch - could be period - we'll never find out...
All the dates on the mask and can are "1944" - and missing the lens cleaning cloth - but will get one soon.
