    I came across these crate tops a few days ago, the seller is an antiques dealer and he is asking $120.00 for each one. They were taken out of an old barn or something like that. The bottoms are gone, but I figure they would make a good restoration project. The wood looks pretty old; I would say it is handmade. The eagles on both look like stenciling. I have a couple photographs, other than that I don't know anything about them. If anybody has any information at all that might help I would greatly appreciate it.

    I really don't like these, the vaulted lids you show are not used on any German crate I've seen, they're not practical for stacking for one thing. As for the stencil, that reminds me more of Indiana Jones than 3rd reich, and at $120 a shot this guys having a laugh IMO.

    lid1 eagle is better than lid 2, they are easy to make
