    Can anyone give me the maker / manufacturer of my 1939 German Aluminum Drinking Cup? Marked A.W.G. 39. See photo. Thanks in advance for your eyes, knowledge & assistance.

    I believe that would be Modell und Maschinenfabrik Meissner & Krämer, Wallau / Lahn.

    Unfortunately that is not correct, because in the case of Canteens and Mess Kits, the maker mark indicates a real maker (like H.R.E. = Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen)

    So this is not a 3 letter code "awg"

    Hey Tom,

    Thanks for weighing in. Can you elaborate to who A.W.G 39 would denote as maker then? 39 is the year of course. Have seen AWG on mess kits, canteens and cups. You mention AWG is not a 3 letter code? Not sure I am clear what you mean. I know cup is real but just unsure of maker. Please advise if you have further clarification.
