I am a member of my local historical society. As such I find it interesting to research old things and dig out their history. I found this old officers travel trunk in my attic. Probably a relic after the german redrawal from Norway in 1945. I would like to research its history based on the writing on the lid, but I do not understand everything written. This is the text, hope somebody can help with more information:

    Einsatz Wiking
An die OBL(e) Narvik Gjerdal Nord
    2HH OEH Ratz
    Für OBL(e) 2 Nordreisa
    7HH Dipling. Feddersen
Abs GL Rab Dion Brt. Helle Reilin NW 40

Einsatz Wiking I understand. This is part of the Todt organisation, the Norwegian branch.
OBL is Oberbauleitung which is a basic administrative headquarter. But why the (e)? Narvik and Gjerdal are places in Nordland county, Norway.
OEH Ratz is Regional Baudirektor, chief of OBL II Narvik in May 1944. But is OEH his first name letters or is it a military title? And I would be very happy if anybody could link to a picture of Ratz. And maybe his first name?
Anybody know something about Dipling. Feddersen? I take this is a person, the owner of the trunk.
And the last line? Is this all german places? Where?
And last, the 7HH and 2HH, what does this mean?

    Greatful for any help.

Dipling possibly is "Diplom-Ingenieur " - German engineering university degree abbreviated to Dipl Ing.

    Diplom-Ingenieur, yes that seems right.
Also wondering if it could be 2HH OBL Ratz and if OBL then could stand for Oberleutnant. Would OBL be a correct short for Oberleutnant at WWII? And would if so a Chef of OBL II be a Oberleutnant?

Regarding 2HH and 7HH. Could this be somthing like 2. regiment, 7. regiment??? I am shure HH is short for something in the german army.

I would think OBL is more likely to be for the OT rank Oberbauleiter.

could always be osama bin laden
on a more serious note i would go with oberbauleiter as its imo a bit more likely

Any German people here that could help shed some light on the last line:

"Abs GL Rab Dion Brt. Helle Reilin NW 40"

Abs I take as Absender or something like that. But is the rest an address? And if so, to where in the world?

Aha, correction. After studying the text more I now think it reads:

"Abs GL RAB Dion Brl Heller Berlin NW40"

    or

"Abs G.I. RAB Dion Brl. Heller Berlin NW40"

Could RAB be a title in the army?
    Dion be a last name?
Is NW40 someplace in Berlin, Germany?

Update: found in google: SS Militar District was the number III "Spree", located in Berlin NW 40, Wilsnackerstrasse 3, Phone: 35 61 36.
    Could it be a connection?

And found that it is a postal district in Berlin named Halle. So the address could be:

"Abs G.I. RAB Dion Brl. Halle Berlin NW40"

    This could maybe make sense????
