This is a muzzle brake box for a 105mm leFH 18.

    Mündungsbremse is a muzzle brake.

I appreciate the quick response. Do you know why the "E" is missing from LEFH? Thanks again

    Vorrat basically translates as stockpile\spare\reserve.

The 'l' is for 'leicht' ( light ), other artillery pieces were denoted 'schwere' ( heavy ). Sometimes these are written 'le' or 'sch' but on ammunition boxes etc a single letter is often used.

L-Leichte (Light) F-Feld (Field) H-Haubitze (Howitzer) 18-Model 1918. This is a common abbreviation. There is no missing letter in this standard marking. This must have been a very common piece of artillery. I have however not ever seen a muzzle break box before. Nice item. NH

Are there any faint markings in box wood exterior such as waffenamt stamps?

Wow, I would have never seen it if you wouldn't have said anything. There are some markings on the left exterior panel. I'll see if I can post a photo. Thanks for all the replies.
