Article about: Hello, I picked up this box recently and I'm having trouble translating the words or identifying what it would have been carrying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards

Can you tell what numeral is behind the WaA26 or is it just a depression into wood? Based on Waffen Amt lists that exists you can locate the city and factory that made them. If it is Just WaA26 it was most likely in Berlin with location of MauserWerke - Borsigwalde from 1943-1945 but I cannot be certain. I am wondering if the stylized B with deco circle was their factory stamp seal as well for Borsigwalde? I know they made K98, MG34, MG42 and other munition related weapon components. My Oma Warbride Grandmother worked in one that was bombed as well and destroyed by US Bombers. She was lucky she played hooky that day!

Incredible story and collection! I believe it's a depression, if not it would be a 1.

Cool...Then most likely box was made in Berlin by Mauser-Werke / Borsigwalde in 1943. I have 3 ammo boxes and yours is stamped very well. Nice condition! Good pick up
