    Default Need Opinions...Gray Zeltbahn SS?

    Hello,

Have the opportunity to pick up a gray zeltbahn. I took some pictures for your review. I know the SS had a splinter pattern camo zelt. Did the SS us Gray as well or was gray used by all branches? Thought in my travels I had somewhere read the SS used gray as well. Not a huge area of expertise for me.

The markings best I can read are and as pictured.

There is a mark faded at top that is a Wa but cannot make out anymore. What are your guys opinions?

    Hello,
The splinter camo Zeltbahn was used by Wehrmacht troops, not the WSS.
The marking is Warei Patentzelt, Warei for WAlter REIchert
The army used a triangular Zeltbahn between 1927 and 1931.
This one was produced for the RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst)
There should be another marking somewhere : R.A.D.B.A.Br.
    Thanks

    Hey J Philip,

Can you confirm for me the Gray Zelt would not have been used by the SS? There were no RAD Markings as I could see on the gray one. I know the Army did not use the gray but the splinter pattern. I agree this one is most likely RAD, TENO or HJ utilized. Images I found show it was used by those organizations.

    Hello,
I'm not specialized in WSS stuff, but i guess than before having camouflaged Zeltbahnen, they used grey ones...
The army DID use grey triangular Zeltbahnen before the adoption of the splinter camo.
    Thanks
