Re: New items picked up whilst on holiday in france
Hi Tony, no worries.
You can also find these post war dishes WITH the wartime style plastic code markings. Clearly one maker carried on using this post war. I did have an example of one of these, but it got mixed up with a friends kit (as we used them at shows for their indended purposes) and so it now lives in France!
Cheers, Ade.

Re: New items picked up whilst on holiday in france
thanks tony and thanks ade, some very useful info for me to take in there. do either of you have any idea on the medical pouch whether it is ww2 or post war, i have a similar one which is marked differently ''dny 1941'' but this one in the photo has no visible date marked on it and im unsure what the lettering translates to on it, thanks, matt

Re: New items picked up whilst on holiday in france
Hello,
For 35 euro, the M1911 ammo pouch only is a good buy.
As already mentioned, the fat container is BGS and the field dressing lacks its cloth wrap.
The medic pouch is marked for the DRK, not army.
Thanks

Re: New items picked up whilst on holiday in france
Hello Matt,
DRK is the german Red Cross....pouches are the same than for the army, but they are made of black leather (vs light brown leather in the army). It is a genuine german item, no problem about it, but impossible to give you a date of production...sorry
Thanks
