Hi Josh, good original pouches.
You may well be right on the Russian capture angle.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Joshua,
the black paint on the rivets and on other metal fittings most likely suggests that these pouches were to be used by the Czech,in fact boatloads of pouches,of all vintages (pre, early, mid and late War) have surfaced in the Czech Republic a few years ago,and many (not necessarily each and every one of them),had the metal fitting coated with a protective layer of black paint.
I don't know about the Russians doing the same thing...it could be but all considered it's a nice pair of mid-to-late War pouches!
Horrido!
Thanks Horrido,
Are you saying that these were produced FOR the Czech army or simply used by them post war?
Josh
These are good German pouches that had be captured and used postwar. I have also read somewhere that the black paint was Russian reissue. They were not produced for another army as you mentioned above
Jason
Thanks Jason,
That was my suspicion, just wanted to clarify!
I think I am going to pass on these, as I am really looking for a set in the state that Germany produced them.
Josh
