    Paratroopers did not have a specific type of mapcase...they used normal ones....M35 or M37 in brown chocolate, light Brown or black colour, plus mapcases made for the Luftwaffe only with a long closing flap, like the one posted here...
    IMO, this one might be civilian patterned after a Luftwaffe model, or a privately purchased item patterned after the regulation item...do i see some metal parts brass made...?

    For those who know the photos showing the "Skorpione" before their departure for Africa, both types of mapcases are shown on the same photo depicting a bugler and a NCO (or an Officer, dont remember)
