A Rad Tornister with the leather maker of Ferdinand Steigler, Mainz and marked with Abtl. 6/334 or 6/33 ? Rather strange...It is missing the main straps... But it was a good buy... I have another in my sights...G

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Very nice GWAR. For your interest here some drawings from original RAD sources:
Tornister
From: Bekleidungsvorscrhrift für den RAD (RAD.Dv.18) from January 16, 1939.
Section II: Bestimmungen über Form und Ausführung der einzelne Bekleidungs- und Ausrüstungsstücke
(this is about the specific looks and gives full descriptions into detail over the pages 168 through 175.
So, eight pages description for just thie one item);
name tag
From: Handbuch der Verwaltung, February 1939. Bekleidung, Ausrüstung usw. I. Bewirtschaftung,
page 71.
From the same source, page 73. The official position for the name tag.
Just to know: there exists also a Tornister for hospital orderlies, which is different from the above one.
Thanks Wim. for taking the time to share such great period knowledge.. My dilemma is this..
Abt. 6/334... Arbeitsgau 6 was in Mecklenburg and according to some literature had 6/60-64 and 67..
Why then 6/334.. I have read (Sceptical) that this might be Norweigian branch... I am highly confused at the moment.. Perhaps you can shed some light on this... Again, Thanks as always and I hope to purchase your new book with personal inscription by you if possible... I know you are busy... But if time allows let me know.
