Range finder???????

Article about: A theodolite is an instrument for measuring horizontal and vertical angles, whereas the dumpy is only for levels. Theodolite usually has an attachment at the base for a plump bob. Can't say

    this is written inside the case (BUHLLER 6432) and id the only markings on it.Range finder???????

    Looks like a dumpy level we used to use in the building trade to determine levels. Any markings?

    Thanks Tom if thats all it is i will remove the thread. It has no markings only the word BUHLER 6334 is marked inside the case whatever that stands for any more help appreciated

    Cheers for posting that one, are they used for military purposes? this one i have seems to be quite a few years old

    Mostly for construction, but we also use them still in Archaeology, though not that common anymore. Probably similar types would have been used by the military, for taking levels and laying flat surfaces, such as airfield runways.
