I have received news from the seller about these boxes. He is also selling the original wooden carrying case for the k98 ammo. My hands are shaking, this might be a great opportunity to get factory condition k98 boxed ammo and clips in the original carrying box. Once I see them, I will upload pictures.
If he's telling you this ammo in the pics is K98 ammo, he doesn't know what he's talking about. This isn't K98, 8x57, ammo, it's 8x56R for an Austrian M95.
Well those aren't my pictures in the first place, I was using them as an example. I wanted to know if these ammo boxes for this type of ammunition had been reproduced in a large amount, and if I should be weary of the boxes I am interested in buying.
The original wood case also? Wow...you sure don't come across Those much anymore these days! It would be collectable in it's own right!

yes, this man has the original wooden box, full of the original k98 ammo and clips and cardboard ammo boxes. I will be seeing him in 2 days, but I hope this wont cost me a fortune...
Well, the seller was a real con man. The wooden Mauser ammo create had new nails, and was too good to be true, and half of his ammo was already sold. All I got was 2 boxes of Steyr 98 ammo, 2 of which had Nazi eagles on the clips, and 2 with Austrian eagles on the clips. $22 for both. I have noticed the closer to the main road most of these antique stores are, the more watered down quality of antiquities.
It`s Steyr 95,not 98.
