Hi folks, It looks like a hybrid of a heavy equipment backpack and cable reel backpack. The hardware is correct for cable reel but I have never encountered one in this form for communications. There was a folding Rückentrager for telephone cable but it had a different style of backpack straps. I'm going to guess this is a Pioneer specific type. Let me dig through my Fernsprech photos to see if there is a match just in case. NH

Similar to a Tragegestell 43. An odd ball piece of gear. More research needed on this one. NH

Multi-board.com in DE might be able to ID. They have a Miltärfahrzeugforum with some interesting commo and cable gear listed. Don't know if they have a field gear section. They did have some post war commo gear with frames and reels similar to TR gear.
If there are any Pioneer specialists here they might chime in on this backpack. NH

Nothing. More photos please. The reel locking hardware on the back looks to be a bit too twee to handle an entire reel of phone cable - they are really heavy! Need front and back photos against a plain background if possible. NH

Thanks for posting. These photos are much better. I'm thinking Damien from Jersey, UK might have seen something like this in his travels. I did a two hour search on the web and came up empty handed. NH
