    Hi Mich,

This is a truly fascinating find! You really need to find out as much as you can about this item from the chap you got it off.

First off, read this: Operation Biting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pretty exciting stuff I think you'll agree!

Now for an explanation of what you have, and what it did: Wurzburg rep!

It would appear that what you have was once a part of one of the 3rd Reich's greatest secrets....until our blokes captured it of course!!

    Regards, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.

I hate to be the one to cast doubts on this, but although the unit is undoubtedly a heavy-duty voltage regulator (and seemingly madge by Pintsch), it clearly isn't the same model illustrated for the Würzburg radar:
