    Doubtful. Looks like some kind of civilian dispatch case. There was an SS presence in Arolsen prior to WWII so that is true. However, the Waffen SS stamp appears to be added for $$ effect. Here is a photo of a shoe brush for sale with the exact same stamp. Willing to hear other opinions but...NH

    As the others have stated, an absurd stamp.

    To be sure, there was an SS garrison in Arolsen. That is not the issue. The issue is the nature of the stamp, itself.

    I assume someone came up with this stamp to "gin up" common items as SS. Arolsen had several high profile SS units including Germania so it figures that some faker would try to capitalize on that history. This is why I don't collect SS. NH

    As has been said above, "service + city name" is a nonsensical marking.

    Also, note that the fakers weren't even aware that "Waffen-SS" is hyphenated.
