Hans Mandy: Yes, it is a fake; one of a variety of similar fakes that are produced largely in India. ask yourself, why would a compass have a sundial time element on it? It isn't accurate for navigation, which requires a chronometer. If you have ever been in a situation where you had to move across country using a map and a compass, you must recognize that this fantasy compass, with all its extraneous garbage, would just make things more difficult. It's a nice conversation piece and a poor fishing sinker. Dwight
