Training stickgrenade or just a post war copy?

I've had this a while but never really looked into it. It's been turned on a lathe.



I plan on using it as a master to have some more made.

Is the head weighted? does it feel like if you threw it, it would actually tumble like a real potato masher?
No point being a practise grenade if it doesn't behave like a real one is it?

If is feels right then theres a chance - a faker wouldn't go to that much trouble IMHO.

Great thinking Dan, not really no it's all wood. Apart from the end actually being bigger it's not weighted. I don't think it's been made with any intention to fool though. It's pretty old, if it's not period I reckon it's a theatre prop.
