I bought this water bottle at a flea market, and I have no if it's German or not, but it looks a bit like it. Never seen this type before, but it looks old and is quite worn. Anyone got an idea of it's origin? I couldn't find any markings on the bottle or leather either.

No idea what it is, but it isn't German - WW 1 or WW 2 - neither political or military.

This a KNIL canteen. Pre WW2 vintage and earlier.

The KNIL is the colonial "Royal Netherlands East Indies Army" in Indonesia.

Nice one. Not many around anymore.

Really? Cool! Thanks! I've bought it here in The Netherlands so... Do you have a link or pictures of other examples? I couldn't find a single one on the online. I wonder how the top looks like because mine is missing a cap or something like that.
