Wehrmacht Assault pack/ Ruck sack

Good morning gentlemen have had this Rucksack for a while now and I do have a couple of questions about it were they general issue to the Wehrmacht or can they be tied to a particular branch of the service. As I need to make a decision whether to use this or my M38 Tornistor for an early war display of my Heer soldier is there away to tell f they are early or late war production.

Hello Mark,
If you want to make a early war set up, you should use nothing in fact...
The Tornister was not carried on the field but left in trucks, cars etc...and this Rucksack is rather late war....
The correct designations for the Tornister are M34 & M39, not M38...

My mistake I wonder why I have the designation of the M38 stuck in my head I can assume then that the rucksack is late war issue.

Thanks Tom I am hoping to use it in a display in the near future as things have slowed down here now on the farm (Harvest season is over) I can concentrate on building a couple of war time displays.
