From the number of connecting knobs on the back, i'm guessing it was designed to operate either on a field system or a regular phone line. They look very well made.

I only have 2 field telephones… but they work fine !!!
Here is one… this one is from 1936 and has the old eagle. The other one is from 1941 and has the new eagle.

I got these from a friend of mine that told me that tees belonged in the central communication office in Norway. This is probably true because the office was taken from them during the war and was used as the central com. Office.

Yes this is a universal telephone, you may use it on central battery excanges, and together with field telephones or exchanges.
