Known as 'Electrician's knife'. These are still being made
( copied ), but I think this one's ok, seeing wear/usage.
If not too expensive - maybe $15-$20
it's worth it.........

Steve.
My thoughts exactly. I bought the same knife in a German hardware store for dm11.95 in 1999. Lost it though, dang it was a handy knife. The steel held a nice edge, but would rust rather easily.
There was never an issue pocket knife given to the troops. Individual soldiers carried their own private purchase knives. I have one that was in box full of a veterans souvenirs. The man confirmed he took it from a surrendering prisoner.

I have one almost identical marked on blade "HaWe" however I think it to be a copy as Walfwolf mentions as it came from good old Globe many many moons ago. Some day I will post it. timoty
Thanks for the help guys!
There was a cable knife issued to troops - both Pioneer and communications if I am not mistaken. The photo shows some typical Nachrichten equipment. The cable knife I believe to be a post war example but nearly identical to WWII type. I have one WWII type cable knife but no photos of it at present. And yes, this type of knife was copied. The copies have a cheap plating on the blade that peels off. NH
