Every watch that I've come across from the Navy was clearly marked "M" or "KM" on the dial or the case. I Believe that what you probably have here is from a Heer heavy Artillery unit. They used stop watches to time the large shells flight times to estimate accuracy and yardage. If you open the case in the back are there any additional markings inside? A "H" or "WH"?

Kind of tried to open it but not very hard and it didn't go. Might take it to a watchmaker. Nice to know it is not Russia on Tuesday. Heer is good. Period is great. Any body got a clue on value? Doug

It likely has a screw back case cover, so do not pry it! It should turn counter clockwise, if it is not froze up. Give it a few careful tries and if it does not begin to turn, best to take it to a jewelers as you said! Good luck!

You have a 100% KM stopwatch, snap back case, very nice.

The KM stopwatches for timing torpedo's have more then one timer , so you could time multiple torpedo's at once . If it has only one timer , I'd say it is not a torpedo timer .
    Cheers Chris
