and, if anyone's interested, turns out the canister is 1938 dated. found it under the rust.
Went back yesterday
So I went back there yesterday and I got some Zeltbahn pieces, a mess kit and a canteen cover for $23.
The Zeltbahn is in terrible shape, obviously, but I had to have it some some reason...
The zelt pieces are good for backgrounds to a display!

Agreed! What I think I'm gonna do is put them on my bicycle, rolled up so that they look correct.

For how much would those losantin decontamination cases go for elsewhere?

No idea. But Walkwolf (on page 1) said that decontamination containers would cost about $10.
Pay a bit more for ones with labels but watch for copies - original labels are made from coarse paper, fakes are usually smooth photocopy paper.
