Hi,
Does anyone know what UW stands for?
Is it a kind of RZM mark? I suppose the W stands for Wehrmacht?
Found this code in a picture of a strap: UW-0-0452
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken, can you show the pic please? I have severe doubts this is wartime.

Hi,
I found them when searching eBay. It's on this helmet carrier. The guy is selling them as originals found in Russia.

So, any ideas what it stands for? It looks like an army code. The carrier was manufactured in Magdeburg by Lothar Gerecke.
Best,
Not an original item in my opinion.

P.S. The guy sells a whole bunch of them. He says he got them from Russia 5 or 6 years ago. They were in this lot among other items he says. Some dated 1939, some 1940. He adds that they were treated with beewax from storage. Clips are magnetic according to him, the stainless steel hook ain't.
So you would advise to stay away from it?
Cheers
These were never an issue item. They were improvised at best. I would not buy one.
Cheers, Ade.
